Since its inception in 1995, the Disney Cruise line has always sought to go bigger and better to enhance the cruisegoer’s experience at every turn. With the announcement of its new cruise ships, Disney is once again adding to its impressive lineup.
The Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream both measure in at an impressive 1,115 feet long, longer than even the Eiffel Tower, which measures only 986 feet. But just what do these new Disney ships have to offer compared to Disney’s existing fleet?
In this post, we’ll share 5 amazing facts and fun surprises about these new Disney cruises you’ll want to see for yourself. If you want to know more about what these new Disney cruise liners have to offer, then keep reading below to discover more all about Disney cruises.
1. There Are Three New Disney Cruise Ships
At the D23 Expo, Disney announced the addition of three cruise ships to its fleet. Some concept art and video material were also revealed alongside these announcements. They illustrated key details and features to expect in this new Disney Cruise generation.
Disney Wish
The Disney Wish has already had its first sailing dates in the summer of 2022. It has a theme of Fairy Tale Elegance, and Disney has described it as a floating castle on the sea, basically the best parts of Disneyland on a boat. It offers a whimsical and immersive world of superheroes, storytellers, and princesses for guests of all ages.
Disney Treasure
The second in the lineup of Disney Cruise ships is the Disney Treasure which is set to arrive in 2024. Its theme is Adventure, and it is based on Walt Disney’s own interest in exploration and discovery. The Disney Treasure promises legendary stories and epic experiences through some of Disney’s most adventurous tales.
The Disney Treasure is the first Disney cruise ship to venture outside of the typical Disney ship theme of fairy tale elegance, art nouveau, and art deco styles of the other ships in the fleet. Concept art reveals that this ship will pay homage to real-world Asian and African influences, as well as the influence of the mythical land of Agrabah. The ship’s main hall will have a statue featuring Aladdin and Jasmine on their flying magic carpet.
TBA Disney Cruise Ship
There is a third Disney Cruise ship that has been announced to join these other ships, but its name, theme, and first sailing date have not been revealed yet. It is expected to possibly become available in late 2024 or 2025.
Triton-Class Ships
These three ships fall under a new classification of Disney Cruise ship types known as Triton class ships because they are larger than the other ships in the fleet. The new Triton-class ships measure 1,119 feet long, 4 feet longer than the Disney Wonder, Magic, Fantasy, and Dream ships.
In addition to this, they have a total ship size of 144,000 gross tons. Newer ships like the Disney Wish will also run on a form of lower emission dual-fuel liquefied natural gas.
2. Disney Cruise Liner Staterooms
The Disney Wish has 1,254 staterooms and a total capacity of 4,000 people when completely full. So, it is still a large cruise ship without being too overwhelming. Many of these staterooms have the ability to become part of adjoining suite setups to accommodate family layouts.
A Disney Cruise ship like the Wish also offers different styles and prices of rooms, from romantic and premium two-person suites to spacious family stateroom configurations. Guests can choose from the Standard Inside stateroom, Oceanview, Verandah, and Concierge room options. There are 76 total Concierge room options, including 53 Staterooms and 23 Suites, for an added cruise experience that can’t be beat.
The Verandah and Oceanview options ensure that you will have your own scenic view from a private balcony or picturesque porthole window setup. While the inside stateroom provides a spacious non-view room.
Concierge Experience
The Concierge room package gets you a wide variety of custom, priority, and VIP services for the length of your cruise ship stay in any one of the appointed Concierge designated accommodations. Guests taking part in the Concierge package have access to exclusive areas on the ship, like a private sun lounge and bar.
They may also take part in amenities such as:
- In-suite dining
- Special Event Planning
- Priority tendering at ports
- Personalized robe and slippers
- Complimentary Wi-Fi

Guests also have their choice of pillow options and luxury down duvets. The Concierge experience for your Disney Cruise can take an ordinary Disney family vacation and make it extraordinary. It’s like having your very own Fairy Godmother at the helm to make sure every detail is to your liking.
3. Disney Cruise Enhanced Dining Experiences
Disney Cruise dining isn’t just a bland, one-dimensional experience. It’s a multi-faceted and interactive format that kicks the ordinary dinner and a show concept into a high-gear immersive and interactive extravaganza.
World of Marvel
The Disney Wish incorporates Marvel superhero-themed dining in World of Marvel with Ant-Man and the Wasp characters interacting in a Pym laboratory motif. Guests encounter items shrinking and growing throughout their dining room. Dinner guests also view Marvel movie scenes along with holographic display models and their very own tabletop Quantum Core to put them in the center of the action for a fully immersive experience.
Star Wars
A Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Lounge caters to adult Star Wars fans. The Hyperspace Lounge utilizes all eras of the Star Wars franchise, from the First Order to Republic and Empire. Star Wars-inspired drinks are served as interactive spaceships pass by on screen like windows giving guests the illusion of being on board their own lightspeed space traveling journey.
Frozen
Guests aboard the Disney Wish can also take part in a Frozen-themed dining interactive encounter with Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf. This fun experience transports guests to Arendelle to dine like royalty on Norwegian-inspired food and drink. This theatrical fairy-tale presentation features live musical performances by the characters from the movie to entertain guests as they dine.
Other Dining Options
Dining options also include the old Hollywood-inspired 1923 featuring classic Disney sketch boards and sophisticated dining. Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté, featuring Chef Arnaud Lallement, add to the list of more adult-friendly high-class dining options.
Guests can also choose from more causal dining options such as:
- Olaf’s Royal Picnic – character dining for children 3 to 12 years old

4. Top Notch Broadway-Quality Entertainment

On the first night, guests take part in “Disney Seas the Adventure”, an original stage production just for Disney Wish patrons. It features Disney and Pixar characters who are setting out on their own heroic journeys.
This rousing cavalcade of characters includes favorites like:
- Elsa
- Moana
- Tiana
- Merida
- Hercules
- Minnie
- Goofy
- Crush
- Squirt
Disney Cruise patrons on the Wish can also see a unique reimagined adaptation of The Little Mermaid on stage that isn’t available anywhere else. A new Aladdin Musical Spectacular is also in the works onboard the Disney Wish.
3D Movies at Sea and special Disney Movie Premiers also take place on these new ships like the Disney Wish. But the Disney Cruise experience expands far beyond entertainment just for kids. The Luna nightclub lounge and an adults-only piano bar called Nightingale’s provide grown-up fun after hours.
5. Onboard Disney Cruise Activities
If the live shows and immersive dining experiences still aren’t enough for you, Disney has you covered. You’ll always have your choice of extensive onboard activities to choose from. Character experiences are always on par for Disney, but there are even more surprises newer ships like the Disney Wish have to offer.
Disney-themed cruise nights and specially-themed holiday cruises for Halloween time and Christmas give you plenty of opportunities to join in on the fun. Pirate Night incorporates a Pirates of the Caribbean dinner and show with an on-deck party, along with trivia and character meet and greets encouraging you to dress like your favorite pirate.

While the AquaMouse is the first of its kind waterslide and cruise ship attraction taking place in over 760 feet of tubes above the upper decks.
