"Can you get me a Disney discount?" is one of the first things families ask me. It's a fair question, and the honest answer is better than most people expect, even if it isn't the secret-deal answer some are hoping for.
I've been a Disney travel agent since 2010, and I'm a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge. Here's what a travel agent really can and can't do when it comes to Disney discounts, and how I help families get the best price on their trip.

Yes, but not through a secret discount that only agents can give you. When I book your Disney vacation directly with Disney, you get the same public prices and the same official offers you'd see on Disney's website. What I bring is knowing which offers exist, which ones your dates and resort qualify for, and catching new ones as they come out.
When you bundle your hotel and park tickets together, you'll most likely save money compared to buying everything separately. Travel agents also get notified when Disney releases sales and discounts, so you don't have to watch for them yourself. This is the biggest myth I hear. Disney travel agents can get discounts, but those special rates are for the agent's own vacations, not for clients. Honestly, being a Disney agent comes with some real perks, from discounted stays for your own family trips to training and insider updates straight from Disney. Disney's offers change throughout the year, but here are the Walt Disney World resort offers Disney lists for 2027 as of its September 25, 2026 update (The Walt Disney Company):
Every offer has limited rooms, excluded dates and fine print, and most can't be stacked. That's exactly where an agent helps: I'll check which one gives your family the biggest savings for your dates.
When booking directly with Disney, we can apply the Disney Visa, Florida resident and Disney+ offers when they're available. These come and go, so always ask your agent whether you qualify for any of them. Disney will require proof, too. For example, Florida residents booking a Florida resident hotel offer need to show proof of residency when they check in (Walt Disney World Florida resident offers).
Military families have their own specially priced tickets, too. Disney says eligible U.S. military personnel can buy those offers through GovX, at their base ticket office or on site (The Walt Disney Company). If you're eligible, tell me up front and I'll plan the rest of the trip around it.
Sometimes. We always look for deals after a trip is booked. But since I work with a lot of clients, here's what I ask: if you see a new offer and want to try to save money, let your travel agent know right away. Depending on your booking and Disney's terms, we may or may not be able to adjust the price. When it works, it's one of the best parts of having an agent. Be careful with discount tickets. Disney tickets sold outside Disney come from third parties, and not all of them are legitimate. We've heard of people buying tickets from unauthorized sellers and showing up at Walt Disney World to find their tickets weren't valid. If you buy tickets only, stick with an authorized seller, and be wary of deals that look too good to be true, like tickets sold on social media or online marketplaces.

Timing is one of the easiest ways to save. For me and my family, we always like to go in January and February or September and October. Those are usually the best times to visit the parks for crowds, and the prices are some of the best, too. Several of the 2027 offers above also land in January and February. Not special agent-only ones. Disney's travel agent rates cover only the agent's own travel. Clients get Disney's public prices and official offers, and a good agent makes sure you get the ones you qualify for.
