I'm a Disney Lorcana collector, and I'm also an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. Those two hobbies overlap more every year. Disney now drops new Lorcana sets at the parks a week early, sells collector boxes you can only buy at a handful of Disney stores, and builds whole festival events around the game. If you collect and you're planning a trip with your family like I do with my kids, a little timing can turn a regular Disney vacation into a Lorcana trip too.
Here's what's exclusive, where to buy it, how the virtual queues work, and what's coming next. Everything below is current as of October 2026, and Lorcana news moves fast, so check the latest before you go.
The Curator's Collection is the big park-exclusive product. Each box holds six borderless foil cards with brand-new art, and they're sold only at a few Disney locations.
When a new set comes out early at World of Disney, Disney has handed out a free Magical Places promo card while supplies last, usually with a Lorcana artist signing:
For the Hyperia City release on October 16, 2026, the Magical Places promo is Baymax – Lab Assistant (5/DIS), revealed on Ravensburger's September 22 livestream (TheGamer). Promo databases report it was handed out at the Disney World and Disneyland release (Lorcana Player), though Disney hasn't posted details on how it was given out.

Want to track your own pulls? Download my free printable Disney Lorcana Hyperia City checklist (PDF). It lists all 242 cards, including the Epic, Enchanted and Iconic cards, with a box to check off each one.
World of Disney in Disney Springs is the main spot. It gets new sets a week before they reach stores everywhere, and it's the Florida home of the Curator's Collection. Disney Springs is free to visit and doesn't need a park ticket, so you can fit a release into an arrival day, a pool day or a rest day. If you're new to the area, my Disney World tips and tricks post covers getting around.
Lorcana has also shown up inside the parks during events. EPCOT's Festival of the Arts featured Lorcana activities like the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt and Collection Quest, and Disney says those experiences return in 2027 (Disney Parks Blog). More on 2027 below.
Demand is high enough now that Disney runs launches through a virtual queue instead of a line. Here's how the Hyperia City release worked on October 16, 2026 (WDW News Today, Walt Disney World):
With product still left that afternoon, Disney opened a second virtual queue at 4:30 PM ET. Anyone could join it, even people who had already bought that morning, with a fresh 2-per-item limit (WDW News Today, WDWMAGIC). So if you miss the morning drop, keep an eye on the app.
My planning tip: that 45-mile rule means you need to be in Central Florida that morning. You can't join from home. Book a hotel nearby (here are my picks for places to stay at Disney World), set an alarm for 5:55 AM, and have everyone in your group who wants to buy logged into their own app account.
At the Disneyland Resort, Lorcana releases go through Disney's Pin Traders in the Downtown Disney District. Like Disney Springs, Downtown Disney doesn't need a park ticket, and it's a great place to grab a bite between card runs (see my Downtown Disney restaurants guide).
Disneyland got both Curator's Collections at Pin Traders. For Hyperia City, it ran its own virtual queue (WDW News Today):
The Disneyland app may list the release as the "Disney Lorcana Collection," so don't let the name throw you (The Disney Scoop).
Not every promo is a park exclusive. For Hyperia City, local game stores give a Minnie Mouse – Urban Visionary promo to customers who buy a full booster box in store (Ravensburger OP kit), and prerelease events at game stores come with their own promo cards. Collectors usually want both: the park cards for the art and the story, and the store promos to finish the set.
Disney parks overseas run their own events too. Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris held Collection Quests in 2026 with three promos, Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear and Elsa, available only through those events (Disney Lorcana).
Here's what's on the calendar as of October 2026:
Need park tickets? I use Undercover Tourist for Disney World tickets and Get Away Today for Disneyland tickets. If you'd rather book a package yourself, Funjet theme park vacations can be booked online. And if you want to know what your cards might be worth, see my post on whether Disney trading cards are worth the investment.
Are Disney Lorcana Curator's Collections only sold at the parks? They're sold at a few Disney locations, not at game stores. For the Beauty and the Beast Edition, that's Disney's Pin Traders (Downtown Disney), World of Disney (Disney Springs), World of Disney in Disneyland Paris and DisneyStore.co.uk, as of October 2026.
Do I need a park ticket to buy Lorcana at Disney? No. World of Disney at Disney Springs and Disney's Pin Traders at Downtown Disney are both outside the parks. Event promos inside a park, like EPCOT's Festival of the Arts, do need park admission.
How do I join the Lorcana Disney Springs virtual queue? Use the My Disney Experience app at the posted time (6 AM ET for the Hyperia City release) while you're within about 45 miles of Disney Springs. Each buyer needs their own boarding pass.
Can my kids buy with me? For Hyperia City, a minor could go in with a parent, but only the guest registered on the boarding pass could buy.
Do you get a free promo card at Disney Springs? Sometimes. Wilds Unknown and Attack of the Vine! came with free Magical Places promos while supplies lasted, and the Hyperia City release reportedly had a Baymax – Lab Assistant promo.
What's the next Lorcana event at Disney World? The 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, starting January 15, 2027, with Lorcana activities and a Figment promo card.
