My kids get excited every time Disney announces a new ship, and I get a lot of questions from families who want to be on the Believe early. Here's everything Disney has announced so far, the full inaugural season, what the fares looked like on opening day, and how to book without stress.

What is the Disney Believe? Ship size and facts

The Disney Believe is the fourth ship in Disney Cruise Line's Wish class, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, according to The Walt Disney Company. The ship's theme is "promise and possibility," built around Disney characters who believe in themselves and their dreams, like Moana, Mirabel from Encanto and the family from Frozen.

Here are the basics from Disney Cruise Line's official Disney Believe fact sheet for travel advisors:

  • Maiden voyage: December 18, 2027
  • Home port: Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • Ship class: Wish class (fourth of four)
  • Built by: Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany
  • Size: about 144,000 gross tons and 1,119 feet long
  • Passenger decks: 15
  • Capacity: 4,000 passengers in 1,246 staterooms

Disney notes that details can still change while the ship is under construction.

Disney Believe bow and stern characters

Disney Cruise Line says a hand-painted filigree of Tinker Bell decorates the bow, with friends from Peter Pan worked into the artwork. At the stern, Woody and Buzz Lightyear hold crayons, and the ship's name is lettered in the Toy Story block-style font instead of the fleet's usual calligraphy.

The Grand Hall is the heart of the ship, and it's themed to Moana and the place where the sky meets the sea. Guests are greeted by a bronze statue of Moana with Pua and Heihei. Disney says the space has an ocean-hued carpet with bioluminescent colors and a chandelier modeled after the sea, with the heart of Te Fiti hidden inside.

Disney Believe shows and entertainment

The Walt Disney Theatre has three Broadway-style shows on the Believe, according to The Walt Disney Company.

"Disney Encanto," the first Encanto musical

"Disney Encanto" is the world's first stage adaptation of Encanto, and it plays only on the Disney Believe. It follows Mirabel on her quest to save her family and their magical home. The show draws on Colombian cultures for its costumes, sets and traditional dance, and it includes Lin-Manuel Miranda songs like "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Surface Pressure."

"Tangled: The Musical" in the Walt Disney Theatre

"Tangled: The Musical" is a hit show from the Disney Magic. On the Believe, it gets a reimagined set design and special effects that Disney says are exclusive to the new ship. Rapunzel and her friends bring the movie's songs to the stage.

"Disney Seas the Adventure"

This is the Wish-class original show starring Disney and Pixar characters and their songs. It rounds out the theater lineup.

Gazelle, the Zootopia entertainment hub

Gazelle is inspired by the city from Disney Animation's Zootopia films. By day it hosts family fun like trivia, games and character encounters. At night it switches to adults-only entertainment, silent discos and variety acts. For the first time on Disney Cruise Line, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde star in a new family show where guests help them solve their latest case.

More family favorites onboard

  • AquaMouse, the 760-foot water ride, with new Mickey and Minnie "Port Adventures" shorts
  • Pirate's Rockin' Parlay Party, with a live rock band and fireworks at sea
  • Hero Zone, a sports arena with games and family competitions
  • Disney Uncharted Adventure, an interactive game you play on your phone
  • Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas, with free movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm

Disney Believe restaurants and rotational dining

Disney Cruise Line uses rotational dining, so your family moves between the main restaurants on different nights. On the Believe, the three main restaurants are:

  • Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast, a brand-new restaurant set in Oaken's family sommerhus courtyard. His cousins perform reimagined Frozen songs, and Anna and Kristoff stop by.
  • 1923, celebrating Disney animation with more than 1,000 pieces from the Walt Disney Archives.
  • Worlds of Marvel, with "Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix."

Up on the pool decks, Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods has quick-service stalls, including Pluto's Pita Platters, a Mediterranean stall that's only on the Believe. Two new coffee shops, Big Hero Sips (Big Hero 6) and Café Kakamora (Moana), serve coffee, tea and specialty drinks.

Inside Out: Joyful Sweets

Inside Out: Joyful Sweets is a new take on the sweet shop guests already love on the Disney Wish, this time inspired by Pixar's Inside Out 2. Large sculptures of Joy, Sadness, Anxiety and Envy stand with the "Sense of Self" structure from the movie. Disney says the menu includes nearly 20 flavors of gelato and ice cream, daily handcrafted gelato specials and signature sweets. Treats here cost extra.

Disney Believe lounges just for adults

Sea Notes is a piano lounge inspired by Ariel's grotto in The Little Mermaid. Its centerpiece is a pearlescent piano, one of the "forgotten treasures" from Ariel's grotto, with cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.

Skygazers pub

Skygazers is an observatory-themed pub that looks like an astronomer's lab, with bookshelves, astronomy instruments, star maps and nods to Disney stories about wishing on stars. It serves custom craft beers, specialty cocktails and light bites, and shows live sports.

More adult spaces

  • Wishing Well, a Snow White-themed lounge with live music
  • Haunted Mansion Parlor, back with a new drink menu made just for the Believe
  • Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement and The Rose lounge
  • Quiet Cove pool, Senses Spa, Untangled Salon and Hook's Barbery

On the Believe, the entrance is themed to Monsters, Inc., complete with "2319" caution tape and Mike Wazowski. There's also It's a Small World Nursery (6 months to 3 years), Edge for tweens 11 to 13, and Vibe for teens 14 to 17.

Disney Believe staterooms and room themes

Disney Believe price: how much does it cost?

Based on opening fares, a 4-night Inside stateroom for two started at $2,683, and most January-through-May sailings opened between about $2,700 and $4,800 for an Inside room. Holiday sailings cost the most: the maiden voyage opened at $6,444 and New Year's at $6,030 for an Inside room. Concierge fares ran from $6,699 up to $17,074 on the maiden voyage.

A few things to know about those numbers:

  • They're for two guests in one stateroom. Adding kids raises the total.
  • They include taxes, fees and port expenses. Gratuities, Palo or Enchanté, spa treatments and Port Adventures are extra.
  • They're a snapshot. Popular dates usually go up as staterooms sell.

When can you book the Disney Believe?

Disney opened booking in waves, each starting at about 8 a.m. Eastern, per Disney's official booking schedule:

  • October 12, 2026: Pearl Castaway Club members

The maiden voyage is already sold out. Blog Mickey reported that the December 18, 2027 sailing was no longer listed as available on October 14, during Castaway Club early booking. As final payment dates get closer, cancellations can open up rooms, so it's worth watching if your heart is set on it.

Disney Vacation Club members also have a separate "First Wave" sailing on January 5, 2028, bookable by phone starting November 21, according to Blog Mickey.

You can book online at Disney Cruise Line or through an authorized travel advisor like Fun Park Go. It costs you nothing extra to use us, because Disney pays the agent.

  • The deposit is usually 10% of the cruise price.
  • You can pay the rest at your own pace in any amount.

Disney Believe vs. Disney Wish and Disney Treasure

The Believe, Wish, Treasure and Destiny are all Wish-class ships, so they share a similar layout and some favorites: AquaMouse, 1923, Worlds of Marvel, Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté and Disney Seas the Adventure. Haunted Mansion Parlor also returns on the Believe with a new menu. What's only on the Believe so far:

  • "Disney Encanto" in the Walt Disney Theatre
  • Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast
  • The Moana Grand Hall with Tinker Bell on the bow and Woody and Buzz on the stern
  • Gazelle with the Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde show
  • Sea Notes, Wishing Well and Skygazers
  • Pluto's Pita Platters, Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora
  • The Believe Tower Suite

If your family loved the Wish, the Believe will feel familiar, with new stories layered in. Read our Disney Wish guide to get a feel for the class.

Tips for booking the Disney Believe

  1. Be ready before 8 a.m. Eastern on October 19. That's 6 a.m. in Utah and Mountain time. Have your MyDisney login, every guest's full name and birthdate, and a card ready.
  2. Pick two or three backup dates. If your first choice sells out, you won't lose time deciding.
  3. Look at January through early March and late April. Those dates opened with the lowest fares.
  4. Book a verandah if your budget allows. With 70 percent of rooms having one, there are more of them to choose from, and they're great for families.
  5. Know the 4-night vs. 5-night difference. The 5-night Bahamian sailings visit both Disney islands plus Nassau. Some 4-night sailings visit only one Disney island.
  6. Plan a hotel night first. Flying into Fort Lauderdale the day before takes the stress out of embarkation.
  7. Don't wait on Encanto fans. "Disney Encanto" only plays on the Believe, so if your kids love Mirabel, this is the ship.

Will there be Disney Lorcana on the Disney Believe?

Disney hasn't said whether Lorcana events will run on the Believe yet. Here's what we know. At D23 in August 2026, Ravensburger announced it is expanding the Disney Lorcana experience, including Collection Quests, across the Disney Cruise Line fleet in 2027 and beyond. Cruise-exclusive Lorcana promo cards have already been offered on the Disney Treasure and later on the Disney Magic, as WDW News Today and Laughing Place reported. For now, check out the Lorcana exclusives you can get at Disney World and Disneyland.
