People hear "Disney travel agent" and picture someone who books a hotel and disappears. That isn't how I work. I've been a Disney travel agent since 2010, and I'm a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge. In this post, I'll walk you through what I actually do on a real Disney World trip, from the first conversation until you're home again.
If you want the big-picture overview first, start with what a Disney travel agent does. This post is the hands-on version, from my side of the desk.
Some links in this post are affiliate links. If you book through them, Fun Park Go may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
It starts with a conversation. When a family reaches out, I ask a few questions so I can plan the right trip, not just any trip:
From there, I put together a quote with the hotel and park tickets that fit. Some people are ready to book right away. Others need time to think it over, and that's completely fine. Disney World is a big place with a lot to do, and it can be a lot to take in. I'd rather you feel good about your choices than rush. If you want to come prepared, here are the questions to ask a Disney travel agent.
I book your Disney hotel and park tickets, usually together as a vacation package. I don't book airfare, so you'll book your flights separately.
Once it's booked, you can pay in full or set up a payment plan on your package. There's no extra cost to set up a payment plan. Park tickets bought on their own are paid in full when you book. Here's more on how Disney payment plans work. My planning help is free, too. I explain why in How much does a Disney travel agent cost?
This is where a lot of the real work happens. Here's what I help with between booking and your trip:
Life happens. I've had families who needed to reschedule because of weather, and others who needed to change the days of their trip. Depending on how close you are to departure, most of the time we can help with that. Disney's own rules and any price differences still apply, and I'll walk you through them before we make a change.
Sometimes a family needs to add or remove someone at the last minute. Having a travel agent for that can save you a lot of time compared to going through Disney's customer service yourself. You send me a text, and I do the legwork.
Having a Disney travel agent is like having your own personal customer service rep, there when you need them. My clients get my personal cell so they can call or text me while they're traveling, plus a 24/7 hotline in case I'm not available.
Part of my job is making sure you know the rules before you get there. Knowing what you can and can't take into the parks can save you time and money, especially if security ends up taking something from you at the entrance. For example, Disney doesn't allow bags larger than 24 inches long by 15 inches wide by 18 inches high in its theme parks or water parks (Walt Disney World property rules). My Disney packing checklist can help you get ready.
I'd rather be upfront about this, because clear expectations make for a better trip:
Good communication and knowing what you can and can't do are some of the biggest benefits of working with a travel agent.
For first-timers, especially families with young kids, Disney can feel overwhelming. We've helped a lot of families who just needed someone to explain how the parks work. For experienced Disney fans, it's always nice to have another Disney adult who gets you and your love for Disney.
Either way, you get the same thing: someone who knows Disney, watches over your trip and is just a text away. You can see everything we do on our services page.

Not with Fun Park Go. I book your Disney hotel and park tickets, and you book your flights separately.
No. There's no extra cost to set up a payment plan on your vacation package. Tickets bought on their own are paid in full.
Dining reservations are made in the My Disney Experience app. I'll make sure you know when your booking window opens and help you plan which restaurants to try for.
If you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel or select other hotels, you can buy them up to 7 days before your stay. Other guests can buy them up to 3 days before their park visit.
Your room type is guaranteed once it's booked, but your exact location in the resort isn't. I can request a location for you, and Disney fills those requests based on availability.
Tell me your dates, who's coming and what you'd love to do, and I'll put together a free quote. Planning with Fun Park Go is free, and we can set up a payment plan on your vacation package so your trip is paid off before you go. (Park tickets alone are paid in full.)
