One question I hear a lot from families: do Disney travel agents have some kind of special hotel access? Maybe a better view, a room that looks sold out online, or a shortcut into a Disney resort?
I've been a Disney travel agent since 2010 and I'm a College of Disney Knowledge graduate, and I'm working toward my Authorized Disney Vacation Planner status. Here's the honest answer about what I can help with on Disney hotels — and where the real hotel perks actually come from.

Not in the way most people picture it. What helps families most is having someone who watches Disney's offers, knows which resorts and room types tend to fit different families, and can walk through options quickly. Agents get notified when Disney releases sales and offers, so you're not hunting every day on your own.

Here's what families should know about rooms:
Picking the right resort and room type up front matters more than any request. If you're still comparing, start with places to stay at Disney World, or see whether Art of Animation is worth it for your family.
When a resort looks full online, I can still help you look at other options: shifting your dates a day or two, trying a different room category at the same resort, or suggesting a similar resort in the same area.
Timing makes a big difference. Booking last-minute usually means fewer choices and higher resort prices, so the earlier you start, the more rooms you have to pick from. And after you book, we keep watching for deals. If you spot a new offer, contact us right away. Depending on your booking and Disney's terms, we may or may not be able to adjust the price. This is where the real "special access" lives — and it comes from staying at a Disney resort, not from who books it. Whether you book with us or on your own, Disney Resort hotel guests at Walt Disney World get:
That's a big reason I recommend Disney resorts for most families visiting Disney World.
The value is having someone handle the details:

Families often search for an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner or Authorized Disney travel agent hoping that title unlocks a better room. It's really about training and knowledge of Disney's resorts and booking rules. Disney does have a special travel agent rate, but Disney's form says it's for an agent's own travel with immediate family sharing the same room — not a client rate.
Fun Park Go is not an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner yet; I'm working toward that status. I'm a College of Disney Knowledge graduate and a Disney agent since 2010, and our planning is free.
